During my third years at Epitech, I had to find an internship of 4 to 6 months in an enterprise. Wishing later to evolve to a position of product owner or engineering manager I had to acquire skills in these areas. In order to this I asked to do this internship at Kuzzle, a company where I had already done an internship as a developer because I already had a good knowledge of the product and internal processes. I was very honoured that they accepted, so I did an internship from April to August at Kuzzle, an Open-Source software company for the management of the Internet of Things. The main objective of this internship was to bring me a brand-new experience in the professional world by overseeing the management and the monitoring of tech products inside a company.

Kuzzle is an open-source platform software dedicated to the internet of things (IoT) and Data Management. The main goal is to accelerate the deployment of IoT applications. You can find more information about this company on their website : https://kuzzle.io/

My internship can be resume in 3 main aspects 👇

  • Optimisation and centralisation of information

Through the use of an organization tool (Notion) I was able to contribute to the creation of a data centralisation space for all teams. This could go from setting up a tool to follow up rituals or a tool to follow up projects

  • Process automation

Implementation of an automation process aiming at facilitating the life of the developers so that they can concentrate more easily on their core business: coding

  • Product management

Implementation of an internal product, I had to identify the needs of the project stakeholders in order to deliver a product to the technical team that would meet their expectations and that would save them time. Analyse the KPI and illustrate them in the purpose to make them understandable by the other teams.

During this internship I discovered a field of technology that I didn’t know yet professionally which was the management and the monitoring for a team or a project. With the experience that I gained, I think I have a much better vision of the projects or internal processes and I can build a continuous improvement.

Nowadays it's rare to have a developer who wants to do this kind of missions that are not essentially coding, however it's very beneficial to have tech knowledge in order to better understand the aim of projects or processes
